Dear forummers
Never in my wildest dreams I would have imagined that I once would post a 1000th comment/thread in a IWC forum!
After I turned 50 in July 2013, I bought my first and last mechanical watch Ref. IW390210…thats at least what I thought ;-)
What happened since then, is still hard to explain and you and I have read many comments about the „Übervirus“ here in this forum.
When I‘ve read about it for the first time I couldn’t take it serious at all.
But in December 2013, only about three month after I got my Yachtclub, MF’s announcement about the CF3 hit me tremendously and I felt for the first time what must be meant by other forummers when they talk about the virus.
After one month tossing and turning my thoughts and watching the pictures of the CF3 over and over again, I made the decision that I only will buy it, if I get „my“ number.
The rest is history…, after I got the CF3, the virus infected me again with the Ref. IW500908.
I just couldn‘t resist, when a real good opportunity came across.
After that I couldn’t cure the fascination of a „long“ admired Ref. you can only get on the second hand market.
That was a very new experience: Being for about one and a half year (unsuccessful) on the hunt to get this engrossing watch.
Finally, about six weeks ago, I got it and since the 1000th post was not far away, I safed the reveal until now:
First time I got an IWC in a parcel:

First wristcheck with a black strap as I bought it:

One week later I got the original strap (thanks to the Zurich Boutique for the fast service again):
