I still can't get the photos just right. The dial shimmers more and is slightly more gray. and the strap is more brown than burgundy (a minor mistake in my opinion).

The movement is interesting., even if a lot of wheels can't be seen due to the three-quarter plate. The decoration is very distinctive --where the perlage is and the stripes (not really Geneva stripes, given their curves and width, in my opinion). You will see that there is no regulation index/needle like the Jones' movements.

You'll also see the "Batman" bridge designed for the mounting on the balance. The stripes on it differ in dimension from tthose on the three-quarter plate.

    Regards,
    Michael
P.E. I've been trying to take movies of the tourbillon --problem is, my little pocket Canon doesn't have a video/macro setting. I'll keep trying.

    They're white....

....but I don't know if they're white gold or rhodium-plated steel. There is a line in the middle of the two main hands, and they have a slight slope downwards on each side, like a two-edged sword. That increases their reflectivity.

    Rhodium-plated steel?

How did you get that idea, Michael? Considering the price of the watch, that has that level for the most part because of the tourbillon, I would expect the hands to be white gold without any doubt. The picture on the cover of the latest Watch International shows the red gold version, I really would say the hands are red gold. What puzzles me though is the rim of the tourbillon, that is of a white metal for every version.

The back of the watch is very interesting indeed, missing that fine tuning device. By checking the terminology of "fine tuning device" in the catalog and not finding it, I noticed that there is one mentioning of the Portuguese Régulateur Tourbillon in the catalog, on pages 31/32 where the in-house calibres are shown and described in a table.

    Kind regards,
    Paul, wearing Saint Exupéry Chrono

    Lovely fine minute markings...

The hour hand looks to be creased Bastone and the minute hand creased Blockforme.

I really love the roman numerals and the...

batman wings. It must be incredible to see the tourbillion moving away on the dial.

    ;-))))

Like I said make sure to bring it next time we meet and I promise to bring my HD camera and make some footage for you of that wonderful Tourbillion in motion.

In the meantime I think we're all very content with your photos!

    Thanks

I was too lazy to look in the WATCH International No 4 Dec 2007 issue where the Cover Story article in Pages 14-21 show such beautiful images of the white gold, platinum and rose gold versions. There's a great image of the installation of the 'Batman bridge' too......so for those who havent read the article in a while---get your copy out again and reminisce in the details of this wonderful watch.

I just love the tourbillon bridge

Wouldn't have called it "batman" myself but that is very fitting.

    Congratulations on your choice, Michael.

    Cheers, Dirk
