Does anyone know details of the 30130 movement, used in the smaller Da Vinci automatic, as listed in the current IWC catalogue? Is it a variant of the 30110, used in the Mark XVI?
I'm considering the Da vinci automatic as a retirement present for my special someone, and hope it would perform as well as my Mark XVI Pilot, whose accuracy continues, after three years of daily use, to be quite staggering.

I'm quite sure that the 30130 is a big date brother of the 30110. As the Da Vinci Automatic is not very popular here, I think I never saw a picture of it here shown by its proud owner, it isn't surprising no answers come. The 30110 is a very sturdy and reliable movement. That should be true for the 30130 too, I think it to be improbable that the big date complication would ruin that characteristic. If you like the watch, I would take the in my opinion non existent risk about the movement. You certainly would get a watch where the pictures of it would be welcomed here quite a bit. Good luck!

Afaik the 30130 is based on the ETA 2896, the big date brother of the ETA 2892 (the basis for the 30110).
