    Goodmorning,

After having bought a new AT Automatic 4 weeks ago i found out that having an IWC watch (my first) is addictive... :-)

I am there for looking at a 3777 or a (in mint condition) 3707. Are there lots a differences between them accepty size (42 vs 43 mm) and the dial? The mecanique is different off course but are there some very important other differrences?

Hope hearing from you what you think about these 2 watches and which you prefer! Have a nice one....

I found this pic on the internet.

    Cheers, Derk

    I prefer the 3777!
Used to have the 3717(?) for a few years and was very satisfied with this watch.
But the 3777 is that slight little bit bigger that it should and - what's more - the face is more open. The bezel is slightly thinner.
I love the small additional details:
    [ul]
[li]The outer seconds ring with numbering[/li]
    [li]The altimeter like date window[/li]
[li]The small red arrowhead next to the date[/li]
[li]the little more details the subdials[/li]
[li]The calf skin like strap which is stronger[/li]
    [/ul]
That altogether gives more presence on the wrist.
And the new style bracelet is fantastic too featuring the clasp with micro adjustment. As an option for later.

I have the 3717 Chrono and prefer it for a variety of reasons.
Date window positioning to outside edge of dial. Cost difference between the two models was pretty heavy. The latter by itself was reason enough.
If however you were getting bracelet models then the bracelet for the 3777 is better and more versatile than the bracelet for the 3717. The bracelets are not interchangeable.

I had both for a while but ultimately kept the 3717. I prefer the more traditional date window and the wider bezel of the 3717. The 3777 is beautiful as well, but the 3717 felt closer to IWC's roots. There's really no wrong choice here, however, as they're both great watches.
