    Hi ,

I was wondering if anyone had tried the 371701 Pilot Chrono on a brown strap instead of the black.I was wondering if the brown croc strap on the Spitfire 371702 might look good .I think it would but would be interesting to know if anyone tried this or might have pics.

    Thanks.

    3717 strap change

I would'nt go for croco - imho. Instead I think the IWA21700-02 (mm 21-18) would be a (pilot's) classic choice. I don't wear it on my 3717 but I've seen it on a spitfire of a friend of mine, it looks great.

sorry, I don't have pics though.

    Kind Regards

    Roberto

    3717 strap change

I wear the 371701 on a dark brown strap... i love the look. to me it's a great combo. Some might disagree. It comes down to personal preference. Gotta do what makes you happy. I don't have any pics at the moment, I'll try and get one out at some point.

p.s. There are definitely a few shots of the older fliegeruhr on brown straps on this board... similar look. I don't remember the posts though, sorry.

I seem to remember seeing a big pilot 5004...

    on the oem brown alligator
strap from the white gold BP.
    It looked quite fetching.

    Hi Gerald !
Can you please explain me what the "oem" stands for? On my croc strap lining there is an "obm" (both ends) and presume it describes the size/length of strap.
    Thanks and best regards
    Tom

    in fact..

one of the first real pilot watches, the B-uhr (Beobachtung/Observation watch) had a dark brown strap so from a "historical" perspective there is nothing wrong ;)

yet it is all a matter of personal taste but you should just enjoy a brown strap on your pilot chrono.

attached a picture i took this week in the iwc museum of a mk XI with brown strap. nice combo too !!

OEM, just mean original equipment manufacturer...

this is the strap that IWC supplies with the watch. I hope
    that helps.

    Black is best

for my eyes - the continuation of the black dial is seamless.

I used the Triste strap from the 3786 >

when I had my 3717 Classic. Since changing to the 3717 Laureus I am using the OEM dark blue croc.

If I wanted to use a different hide, I would go with a dark blue buffalo.

    Cheers from Isobars.
