    Dear all,

Just home after a visit to our local IWC Boutique. Always a pleasure. Bought a very nice new strap for my portuguese rattrapante and in the meantime was luckey enough to strap on a ref 5447: the portuguese (jones) tourbillion. In rose gold with black dial. Simply breathtaking... Unfortunately I can not share any pictures but what a sheer beauty this watch is......!

Mark --I share your enthusiasm. As many forumers here know, I have the regulateur version of the Portuguese tourbillon (ref 5446), which is almost the same watch. It is my favorite watch, and I wear it all the time.

I personally believe that tourbillons are often under-appreciated as ultra-expensive novelties. To me they represent what fine watchmaking is all about, and the Portuguese line is the perfect setting for them.

Well said, Michael. I was very, very impressed. And the tourbillion is mesmerizing. Especially the rose gold case with the black dial worked very well. Very tempting....
