Andrew, Giovanni already has a BP in his collection, and as he is a " kind of purist" he likes his BP's traditional, without perpetual etc. so I doubt its a BP.

Now I happen to know that he somehow convinced himself to the idea that he likes the idea of adding Limted Edition's to his collection ....

Maybe a Portofino with a moonphase? Or maybe a regulator?

Giovanni, I concur with MF... You need to make your reveal before the SIHH takes off!

    Best regards

Thomas, no it is not a BP.

But ok, you kind of convinced me. Trying to compete with the SIHH news would be kind of crazy, and it would be a pity if my personal news - of which I am extremely proud - would get lost in the mass of news during SIHH.
So I take your advice as (good) reason to pick up the watch earlier - that makes also my life much easier as I do not need to resist another full week.
Stay tuned, will pick it up now in the next days and will post pics.

Meanwhile another hint: It is from the Portuguese family, it is limited and purism is an adjective which describes it very well:-)

My strategy of the ruling out possibilities seems to work - - -

My guess / hope = Portuguese Classic with the Piaget movement. Light or Dark dial - I go Silver !

Looking forward to learn more when you are ready.

Hmmm.. i love this puzzle :)

Since Giovanni has mentioned in his starting post that it's a precious metal, and "pure", and "not in the active collection anymore". well, the Portuguese Pure Classic based on what I know comes only in steel - so its still the Regulateur by my guess ... but now I'm less sure.

...a Jubilee in yellow gold or platinum - but what are the chances of it being new? unless ... its the incredible piece at the bottom !

Giovanni - pls end our agony, lol !

As said in my earlier comment, give me a couple of days and I will pick it up and reveal the secret. It is going to be this week - as I simply can't resist and pick it up as originally planned the 16th.
However, Shing, I already gave you a quite strong hint in one of your recent posts:-))

    Giovanni, times up!

    We want to know/see now!

Too much suspense just before SIHH 2012 is not so good for some of us. It takes the stress levels too high.

    REVEAL - REVEAL - REVEAL.

    Best regards

Shing could be right - the Regulateur fits Giovannis description very well.
    It could be also a F.A. Jones IW5442 or... a Minute Repeater IW5240? :)
I can't wait to see your choice Giovanni

There is some serious metal being named here and some of it is serious money. Great Expectations.

    Ok guys,

it is time to uncover the secret.

    Here you go:
    i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z376/giova26/wrist.jpg

Ooops, that's just my naked wrist:-)

Ok, ok, that's now how the dressed wrist looks like:
    i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z376/giova26/Rgulateuriatwrist.jpg

Isn't SHE a real beauty? Understatement? Purism?

That's how she looks like in the box. But on my wrist, she looks much better:
    i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z376/giova26/RgulateurinBox.jpg

Yes, it is a limited edition:
    i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z376/giova26/RegulateurPlate.jpg

@Shing: you were the first one to give the right guess. Well, it was not that difficult, taking into account my posts before. It will be my great pleasure and honor, whenever we manage to meet somewhere in the world, to invite you for lunch or dinner;-)

Forgive me for the bad pic quality. Took them while being at the AD, and rushed now back to work. I will post much better picture (but to manage expectations, nothing compared to Tracy's awesome pics) in the next days.

Well done. A stunning watch. Particularly in platinum. I have a humble steel version and have enjoyed wearing mine. I am sure you will enjoy yours.

Now, that is a nice watch Giovanni!

I thought I'd nailed it with the Pisa - and your clues were getting us close. Must admit, I think we all begin to enjoy what Andrew probably started...this "guess what's in the box" game.

We like all the reveals - but especially, when they are handsome pieces such as this which one does not see daily. I look forward to seeing it soon on your wrist.

    Best regards
