Congratulations. You are very lucky - what a great birthday gift! I might leave your post lying around for my mother-in-law to see....

I thought the new Mark XVII had a bracelet with a micro-adjustment feature. While the watch is on your wrist, press the button in the middle of the clasp, and either push or pull the bracelet till the size is right. A wonderful practical feature!

    Kind regards,
    Paul

    Hi Paul,

Yes, it does have the brilliant micro adjustment system, but I still do need to remove a couple of links.

At the ends it has the same system has the AT - one push button in the middle that you push with the one of the bronze tools and allows you to remove the pin with the other. But the remaining links have two push buttons (one each side) and no visible removable pin... Kind of confusing... I tried our search function to see if I could get more info but apparently is not working.

    Thanks for your input.

OK, as you got the watch as a present, the bracelet wasn't adjusted to your wrist size by the AD. I did take out one link myself, and had to put it back later, as the AD was right. I'm talking about my Spitfire Chrono, with the same bracelet. It is a bit difficult to explain, your booklet should show some pictures. You really have to take care to put all the tiny pieces with the right side up, so be well organised when you do it. The AD thought it a bad idea to do it myself, I saw her point while plodding on. Good luck!

    Kind regards,
    Paul

    Thanks again, Paul!

Meanwhile I managed to put my brain to work and I finally understood how it is done, it is actually quite simple - press the push button and pull outwards - one just has to be careful not to mess up the small links.

    Cheers!

Happy belated birthday. What a gift! IMHO one of the best looking watches in the pilot line. Enjoy it.

That's a wonderful gift. The only downside is that now you can't make mother-in-law jokes. :) Congratulations!

    Thanks, David! Lol!

So you're going to relocate back to the US... We're not going to have more of your beautiful photos with those fantastic alpine backgrounds. :-(
But at least you'll have a very appropriate setting for your YC... Looking forward for photos with the sea!

    All the best!

    Grazie, Giovanni!

Getting a new watch is always a great feeling, but getting one unexpectedly is even better.

Great pictures of a truly amazing watch. To me, this watch is without competition in this price segment, the pictures show why.

    Kind regards,

A stunning birthday present and a mother-in-law with an excellent taste!
Keep and wear your watch in good health as well as your mother-in-law. Be curious what will happen on April 8th, 2014, a BP? ;-)

    Best regards
