Yes, this is a special watch indeed. Here is mine, it can be worn both in not too serious business circumstances, and it looks super whenever casual. I remember when it was presented with the other five Vintage Collection watches in 2008. It wasn't looked at too favourable in the beginning, but that opinion changed, it is a great fun watch too. I liked it from the start and bought it after I bought the for me real winner of the series, the Vintage Collection Portuguese.

    Kind regards,
    Paul

Very impressive - not examples we see here everyday.

Ahh, Swiss Business class. Have you ever been on one of their all Business flights? Very interesting experience.

Great, rare and brilliant pocket watches indeed, Michael. Thanks for sharing.
Like Tonny I have had the luck to held two of them in my hands and see them working two years ago.
For interested who like to get further information about these beauties, you can have a look at thread about IWC pocket watches Adrian (alwaysiwc) has posted in the forum in 2011.

Thanks Hajo for remembering what I wrote a year ago about these 2 exclusive IWC PW's. As far as I remember I described the Varion and the Jaquemart but also the unbelievable "Thermometer Watch". This PW is the ONLY one ever that can indicate the temperature. I asked Christian Niemann from IWC how the temperature was indicated on the dial. The most modest people are always the best people.
Christian, being one of the persons with knowledge on the vintage IWC watches, revealed the secret. The hand that indicates the temperature is attached to a spring coil, made of a special alloy. This coil will react to a temperature change : shrink when it becomes cooler, expand when it becomes warmer. This coil has been fixed one one side to the movement plate and on the other side it has been fixed to the rotable hand....voilĂ .
    Kind regards,
    Adrian,

Again, thanks for bringing us along for the ride, Michael. I can only imagine what it must've been like to participate in such a GTG with such heady company.

    Regards,
    Adam
