Voted - and with much thanks Michael.
I think this - and other - attempts at obtaining feedback and consensus among the collectors whose involvement in the brand centers around this forum is very important, and should be continued and applauded. Ultimately, the watch made has to be liked and welcomed by the collectors in order for it to be a regarded a success, and by that I mean it be purchased.
That we the collectors are not empowered to have an automatically accepted, direct voice, to telling IWC management "what we want, how we want it, when we want it", and that we do not know in entirety the process in which such a production decision can be influenced, nor how it is made, does not to me exclude the possibilities that decision makers:
a) are listening;
b) can be influenced; and
c) are today positive about a CF edition
So to me, these steps obtaining feedback are not pointless nor merely wishful-thinking. I choose to remain positive and hopeful, and to support such endeavors with reason, patience and acknowledgement of the commercial necessities of IWC. Real life to me is seldom just so clear as to be in black or white, but to be navigated within that large expanse of grey with actions consistent with basic human values that are honorable.
