I took a lot of "stick" buying this watch because of it's large size (46mm!) and my fellow WIS friends can't stop teasing me about it. With a relatively puny 6.75" wrist, the watch looks huge on me. It's like a Saucer on my wrist :D

Still, I don't know why, something about wearing this watch always never fail to put a smile on my face.

And you can see why here. Just taken today. Happy Weekends!

    Rgds
    Ben

This is a most beautiful watch, and to me it doesn't look too big, when you consider that on wrist shots the watches look bigger than they are. But it always is a good idea to be honest with yourself in this respect.

This morning I tried the ceramic Big Pilot Perpetual Calendar. Great looking watch, and I was not considering buying, but this one really is too big for my 17 cm wrist. In a way this observation gives peace of mind.

    Enjoy your beauty!

    Kind regards,
    Paul

Incredibly beautiful, and the size makes the combined 12 hour/60 min elapsed time dials and other details so legible.

    Ben,

Looks great, but remember, if it smiles at you doesn't matter what other people think. Enjoy and wear it in good health.
    Thanks for posting.

Looks fabulous, is that a leather strap I see there, any chance of a few pictures of the watch showing the strap as I am interested in the yacht club but with a leather strap. Awesome watch, congratulations.

Yes it's a leather strap. Doesn't come with the watch, it's an add-on accessories from IWC. Here are some pics.

Its ALL about the smile, if it does that to you then its been worth it - the "stick" you're getting is just envy on their part.

Beautiful watch and it looks great on your wrist

    Enjoy !!

…I also can understand your smile :-) beautiful watch. And your wrist is like you want it to see. My first first view went to the IWC and if you don´t talk about your wrist, I would not think about the millimeters on your arms … wish you a nice weekend.

    Kevin says it all!

Who cares what others think - if it brings a smile to your face and a good feeling to the heart and no one is offended.

Now here's the crazy thing - READ WHAT OTHERS SAY!

Everyone, including I, like that watch and it looks fine on your wrist.

It does look great and a fantastic choice with the leather strap, but if you don't like it on your wrist I would do you a favour and wear it on mine for you.
    Just a thought :)))

Wow... Thanks guys for all the great comments and support!

It is indeed true I often got a lot of "stick" from my fellow WISer friends locally when we meet although done in good humor. Their comments are like "This is too big for you", "It looks like you are wearing a clock", "Why you wear such a big watch? Are you compensating for something?" etc...etc..

I do actually agreed at 46mm, this IWC does wears a bit big, but not to say anything about small watch lovers, I think it's also take a degree of self-confidence to wear a Big Watch. It takes a "I wear what I like it and I don't care" mentality.

Those lacking that will always be self-conscious and always think of their watch as "Do I look silly with a big watch? What others will think of me?" instead of "Do I like it?". Of course, suffice to say most of them aren't IWC fans. :D

Besides beautiful, size have it's advantages like readability, easy to use and readable chrono dials and sheer wrist presence.

Ben, I can tell you that I am right now sporting the carbon/titanium Volvo Ocean Race brother to your gorgeous red gold YC, and my wrist is also 6,75". To me it looks perfect on my wrist - just as perfect as yours look on your wrist!

Even if yours is a "classier" watch in material and coclor than mine it is still a sports or sporty watch - and as such deserves a larger size!

PS! Your pictures are just stunning - love'em!
