in response to a question posed by Lucius Müller, I asked flagship staff if there was indeed a new Ingenieur and was referred to a new ceramic/titanium model, apparently so new that service staff were unable to provide much details about its movement and specifications (or perhaps only that the service staff did not know)

apologies on the pics, the lighting and glass display case and my poor photo-unfriendly blackberry and shaky hands made for poor picture-taking:

I believe this is the Ingenieur Herr Kern wore at SIHH 2011 in Geneva. It was a bit of a secret then, but it was obvious on his wrist. There are some previous posts on it in the archives, I think.

interesting. a "soft-subtle launch" through the CEO himself ! I can't wait to feel it, and will ask to wear it in the coming week. hope to have more pics then.

Nothing to do with ceramic, those are black rubber coated buttons.

This was discussed a few weeks ago. It has a rattrapante movement, like the original Ref. 3711 and 3713 Doppelchrono.

The launch here wasn't well handled. The model wasn't supposed to be announced until an official launch, but is in the new catalogs and now trickling into at least one boutique. It will be made in very limited quantities --I hear the US will get about a dozen in 2011.

Right, SC! (of course you are right).

It had rubber-coated push buttons. I played with it at the recent Boulevard event at the Prince's Building Boutique. It does have a very nice feeling to it. For a watch of this size, it is quite light too. It also has double-chrono feature, just like the Top Gun/Spitfire Split second. I suspect it uses the same movement also, but the saleslady at the shop could not confirm while I was there.

I'm not entirely sure about the rubber strap... and the look is a bit too "macho" for me. May take some time to "sink in" a bit.

This is good though... I would hate to have another "oh... I must have it" watch on my list (so soon). =)

come on Kelvin, admit it - u have a thing for titanium too, and this Ing is working its magic on you already ! It is certainly doing it to me - and unconsciously I gravitate to titanium models (two so far) too. so its more happy days ahead for all of us.
