'Better a diamond with a flaw than a pebble without.'
    - Confucius

I really cannot deny that this best describes where my love journey and passion with watches began.

I often view Horology as truly an exquisite art form. I marvel at the fact that Man could use something so unnatural in horological timepiece to lay its mark on something like Time, which one really has no control over.

Such an exquisite equipment, though may never last for eternity, can only be admired for all that it is.

So this new member bestows his greetings from the far east of Hong Kong to this fine forum. I am a simple man, one that finds peace in the simple order of things.

My first and only IWC is the Portuguese Hand Wound. It is a watch that is so simple yet so beautiful. It pays attention to the roots and is a watch that I simply cannot stop wearing. I can say that I am a proud owner because of this and I look forward to owning more IWC's in the future.

I hope to continue to read more about IWC's watches on this forum and more importantly, the life and views of those collectors that wear them.

    Warmest Regards,
    Nathan

Hello Nathan, welcome to the forum from another newbie too! What a lovely quote and happy to hear so eloquently about your love for your first IWC...

    Here's another quote too:

"Buy many, and then buy some more..." Richemont Group (haha kidding)

    Cheers,
    Vinhthang

    Dear all,

A true heart-felt thank you for your kind words of welcome. I am glad to be part of a community where we can share our love and passions for IWC watches.

I will post pictures once I have more time. In fact, I was just able to secure a very beautiful Dark Brown Santoni strap and will be picking it up tomorrow.

I will post a picture of my Portuguese Hand Wound ref.545405 with a Santoni strap once I have the chance to.

    Stay tuned friends

    Welcome to the forum Nathan.

I also own a Portuguese hand wound 5454-05 and it is one of the favorites of my collection. It's thin, lightweight and elegant with wrist presence.
