    Aloha all!

I've had this Big Pilot Perpetual for a couple of years and this was the first year that everything clicked right into place at midnight (i.e., Jan, 1, Sunday, 2012).

In previous years the complete transition took several minutes and I don't know why this year was different.

    Happy New Year!

    Tracy

    Aloha Tracy,

You likely met the minium number of Big Pilots in your collection to justify perfect perpetual transitions this year, lol !

Just kidding - among those I monitored perpetuals date-change with last night, there were differences too - in one instance same watch different metal. Congrats on your "perfect turn" - both of mine made it by midnight too, starting at different periods prior to.

Looking forward to catching u soon :)

The mechanism seems to be quite reliable, mine was also ready on the dot. Perfect!

    Kind regards,
    Paul

My Da Vini Kurt Klaus Perpetual Calendar changed the year two minutes before midnight. Still, for me it was a great event to look at that great timepiece during the year change.
Unfortunately I missed to take a pic

Happy New Year Tracy. That's a great photo. I have also observed some variances on how the year and all calendar indications advance from year-to-year. I was wearing my DaVinci Perpetual Calendar Edition Kurt Klaus, which, for the very first time I observed the year snap into place as I was glancing at the dial just about a minute before midnight! I noticed the "1" was just starting to move a little at about 11:35pm and not much movement at all until it flipped directly to "2".

The amazing thing is that all transitions happen in a 25 minute period with most the action happening during the last 2 minutes.

Happy new year Tracy. Apart from the fact that you have taken the effort to show us the transition, I must say that you have an uncanny talent for taking very professional looking photos. I have always enjoyed your dark background and the just-enough-lighting shots.

    Wow, right at midnight!

Mine took 2 more minutes to fully set forward!

Anyone managed to capture a video of the transition into 2012 on a perp calendar? Would be interesting for some of us who don't own one (yet!)
This year also leap year, so I guess quite a few will be taking some snaps on midnite of Feb 28?
