Thursday, I left early from work to pick up something in Amsterdam and also to have another look at the new Portuguese Chronograph Classic.
I really like their wall clock!

The pictures of the Portuguese Chrono Classic unfortunately didn't turn out too well with the light inside so I won't bother you with them.
After chatting, having a coffee and cookies from Basel, I was a bit later than planned and traffic was horrendous. It took me more than half an hour to get out of Amsterdam and the trip via Utrecht to Eindhoven wasn't much better with road work and traffic jams. A few times, everybody had to brake so hard that I was afraid that the car behind me would hit me in the trunk!
I finally arrived in Eindhoven well after 1900 hours and using modern technology (Share your Location in WhatsApp) Mark and Skule were soon located. Unfortuately, Giovanni couldn't join us (better luck next time Giovanni, I still have to have a good look at your car!). We decided to go to an Italian restaurant that Mark knew from quite some time ago. It was a great place and we had a nice table with plenty of room for our watches.

Just when we were seated, I realised that I left my reading glasses in the car so off I went to pick them up. When I came back ten minutes later the waitress told me she had a whole bunch of them behind the bar!
We ordered our dinner and put a few watches on our table while waiting for the food. The cook in the kitchen had a clear view of our table and asked the waitress what watches we were admiring. We explained it were all IWC's but I was under the impression that this didn't mean much to them. The waitress had a closer look at one of the Portuguese Perpetuals and really liked it but she thought it was too heavy!
It turned out that we all three had an IWC with us that hasn't been shown on the Forum before. To keep make things even worse, one of us wants to keep his watch a secret so I had to edit a few pictures.
Here are a few table shots and a few shots from a bit closer:
Just 11 watches for three guys:

After a while, we had to put our watches aside as our starters arrived. We just realised that we had forgotten to take a food shot when we finished them and already started our main dish! Skule had a plate of I believe Tortellini, Mark had a steak and I had lamb (the only food shot of the evening):

after a wonderful meal, it was almost time to go and when we stepped out at nearly 2300 hours, temperatures were still very agreeable. As I wrote in the title, there were seven full moons: six on the three Portuguese Perpetuals and one in the sky, above Skule and Mark.
Skule had to get out of bed very early to catch a train to Schiphol, Mark probably had a small drive home and I went back to Alkmaar. Our extremely complicated speed limit system in the Netherlands (several different speeds, also depending on time of day) finally worked in my advantage since on most parts of the trip I was allowed to drive 130 km/h. At about 0100 I was home after a very pleasant evening with two other passionate IWC forum members.
Mark and Skule, thank you very much for this memorable evening!
Kind regards,
Clemens
