Unfortunately, I must inform our IWC Forum community of the passing of our friend and long time Collector Kevin Devine. Late last week he suffered from a massive blood clot which lodged in his lung and although things stabilized over the weekend he was unable to properly gain his breath and ultimately succumbed on Monday evening.

As many of you know, over the past few years Kevin and I had become very close friends. This friendship came about as a direct result of our participation in this wonderful Forum. Many of you became friends with Kevin as well through the auspices of the Forum. His love of blue watches, support for the Laureus Foundation, hosting of watch get togethers at the NYC Boutique and superior watch enabling abilities will be sorely missed.

It is incredibly sad that Kevin’s life ended so soon and I cannot put into words how much I will miss him. Even though Kevin may be gone, his memory will live on in all of us. Kevin, I appreciate your friendship and will never forget you.

    May you rest in peace.

I am so deeply saddened. What an experience being in the presence of Kevin. A big man with a big heart and so generous. What a loss! The world is a poorer place today. Condolences to the family.

Kevin, you touched everyone you met in such an incredible way.

Very sad to hear of the passing of this much revered and highly respected gentleman.
I did not ever have the pleasure of being in his company but have read about him and his enthusiasm for the IWC brand.
    A sad day indeed.
    Neil.

    My dear friend,

you were such an important fellow in all our lives.
Meeting and talking to you was always fun, inspiring and simply a big pleasure.
You "enabled" many of us to buy some of the watches we have today in our collections.

You are known as one of the Blues Brothers, because of your love for blue IWCs. I will wear blue watches in your honor for a time now.

Dear Kevin, we will miss your physical presence at our next Get-togethers, but you will always be in our hearts and minds there with us.
Heaven can steal from us your body, but nobody can steal our great memories of you.

Rest in peace my friend, and please take care from up there of your Blues Brother.
One day we will meet again and will have some watch talk without any time constraints.

A true gentleman and great friend to so many of us here. Your love of Blue dial watches, your special friendship with Alan the other Blues Brother, your passion for dogs and your long relationship with Laureus Sport for Good Foundation has made you one of the most emotionally intelligent persons in this forum - who always found a way to see the good in a situation.

Each one of our g2g meetings was so perfect I will truly miss the chance to meet up with you again. You were always such a generous person with your time and I especially enjoyed our talks about your wisdom concerning the Pharma industry in our drives together to the New Jersey airport. I used to joke having the worlds most qualified chauffeur ;-)

We will all miss you. You are a gentle giant and always had a warm word to say about everyone and especially IWC and their products as one of the true and authentic informal ambassadors of Probus Scafusia.

When my time comes I am ready for the g2g in heaven with no time constraints where I will bring stories of all the Blue dials and Laureus versions for you to enjoy ;-).

Strength love and courage to your family and many friends around the world.

This is a tragic and very sad day, the sadest day in my time on this forum.

I am very proud to call Kevin a good friend and I am happy to have been able to not only share my passion for dogs, watches and IWC with him thru this forum over the past 3,5 years, but also to spend some very fun times with him in person in Geneva and New York.

Kevin, both my wife and I will miss you deeply - thank you for all the joy you brought to this group and for the instant friendship we forged.

It was surreal to read a couple of your posts from yesterday, knowing that you no longer will be posting here - 2227 will forever be connected with you - the number of joys you shared with us here on the forum.

We will always remeber you my friend!

Indeed sad news. My thoughts are with his family and friends.
He will be missed by many. It is a good idea to take a blue dial IWC out and wear it in his memory.

Such a genuine, charismatic friend who wore his heart on his sleeve. When just getting into IWC watches, Kevin you were one of the helpful and very friendly enablers who generously shared just because that was your nature. At SIHH, at our GTGs and the countless fun ramblings over the years - I am honoured to have known you. Rest in peace my blues brother.
