    David,

What a wonderful travelogue you allowed us to join in on. First things first..I know exactly what I want for lunch tomorrow.

I'll bet you really appreciated watching production of the 5001's now that you just acquired your's. I must say, of all the watches that you posted, that repeater is the crown jewel. The yacht club looked pretty damn nice too !

I got a bit of a laugh at the pic of you and Nad in his Doctors (lab) coat smiling. Last time my doctor and I had a similar pose, I was thanking him for the good news and that I wouldn't need that procedure again for at least 5 years.

What a great time you all must have had. Hope to have the opportunity to visit Schaffhausen in the near future. Thanks again David for taking the time to share with us a glimpse of your first GTG.

    Andy

Mark - I think that's the one they had on a table in the center of the room so that people could play with it. It was particularly popular with young children. :) Seriously, I was so excited that my attention in the museum was all over the place, hence I wasn't very methodical. I probably saw your watch but I wasn't reading the descriptions very carefully. I need to go back again for a more subdued viewing.

Andy - the minute repeater was my favorite though the blue 5032 was a close second. Nad looked right at home with the lab coat. We should have called him Nad Klaus.

Dick - I thought of wearing my IWC cap but it would have clashed with my sport jacket.

David, what an experience it must have been! The minute repeater and the portuguese 5454 black dial is looking good on you.

Thank you so much for sharing your trip with us, David! Nad is definitely a force of nature when it comes to these watches, and I'm glad that you had a chance to meet him and his lovely wife in person and experience his passion and enthusiasm first-hand.

As for the tour of Schaffhausen, that would be a dream come true for me, but alas, it would be a tough sell for the missus and the kids. Oh, well, their loss, right? For now, I shall content myself with weekly visits to the NYC boutique, all the while keeping an eye out for more reports like yours.

    Regards,
    Adam

PS - Looks like Oliver is growing a beard, eh? I approve.

Fantastic trip together. Authentic forum camaraderie personified.

What does Oliver have on his wrist ?

Believe me Adam, it was entirely my pleasure. I wouldn't think it would be too hard to convince your wife to come to Switzerland. The factory tour might not be her thing but the entire country is absolutely gorgeous. That might be less of an enticement for the kids, depending on their ages.

The camaraderie is a big part of what makes this forum so special. As for Oliver's watch, I can neither confirm nor deny that it is the new LE Ingenieur. But you didn't ask about that watch did you? :)

In Sinclair - thanks for the offer! What is the best way to contact you (email?) and do you live in Switzerland?

Brilliant post David - and to use an old movie line "you had me at the first picture" - that Repeater is just so elegant yet so complex, a true dream-machine!
