I've been around since the beginning of the forum and witnessed the evolution of IWC over those 15 years, and over that time you have been tireless in your supportto the forum and brand - many thanks.

I felt so lucky having a chance to meet Michael once in person.

I too want to thank Michael for what he has done. Before we had facebook and other means of communications, this forum was a great place for collectors and fans to discuss about IWC watches.

I have been "lurking" for a couple of years, just reading articles and others' comments, before registering and posting threads of my own.

Michael, if it wasn't because of you, I could be quite certain that this forum would not have been as successful as it is today.

Thanks for everything that you have done for this community, and if you are moving onto better things, may I wish you an even bigger success in your next venture!

Take care, and nice meeting with you (regardless of the weather and whether we are getting any severe storm).

    Best wishes for the future

Also from my side a big and warm THANK YOU! Your work was instrumental in increasing my interest in IWC. And the CF3 is a very beautiful piece which will always remember me of the great work you have done.

    Michael,
You started this Forum when social media was in its infancy. And you brought a lot of knowledge to these pages.
Your knowledge of pocket watches and your collection which I personally held in my hands is amazing.
We didn't always see eye to eye, but I always respected your superior watch knowledge.
Good luck wherever your next endeavor takes you. And remember that accumulation and collection might actually be the same thing. LOL

...and who, in the world of IWC, can claim his own street in Schaffhausen?
    Coincidence? I don't think so ;-)

MF, you were one of the originals on the horological internet from way back. The development of the IWC forum is thanks in no small part to you. All the best and see you around.

Do not go silent into the night...

You may be stepping down as moderator, but that doesn't mean you're dead. Don't be a stranger, brother!

Thanks for everything you've done for IWC, and for me personally!

I remember the moment well when you retired from timezone and I was asked to take your place. How could I ever fill shoes like that? I wish you all the best and cherish our friendship over the years.

Michael, congratulations on 15 exceptional years developing and leading the IWC Collectors' Forum. It has been home to many, many people who are in your debt for your unparalled expertise and for sharing your passion for the history and tradition of IWC with us.

I remember well my first invitation to SIHH in 2007. You and Kay welcomed me at Breakfast in the IWC hotel when I was an absolute unknown. I owned one IWC, my RG 5001 Portugieser. In 2007, I was not much into photography and have few pictures. Here is one of you speaking with Stafan Weeber in the Year of the DaVinci.

I was lucky enough to have you invite me again in 2010 when you also included me in the IWC Gala event. That was the year of the Portugieser. Sharing dinner at the Gala in 2010.

In 2011, the 10th Anniversary of the Collectors' Forum, the collectors presented you with a Gold Medallion in commemoration of your service to the Collectors Forum and to our mutual good. The attendees that year took home a silver replica of yours. The Medallion still sits on my desk today.

This year, 2016, I was once again fortunate to be invited to both SIHH and the Gala. It was a great pleasure to have time to spend with you in Geneva.

Your call for wrist shots at the Collectors dinner.

Your parting words on Wednesday evening's Collectors' Day dinner.

Finally, I was lucky to have you sitting directly across from me at the final dinner on Thursday evening.

I wish you the best in whatever steps you take next. I am sure you will not fade into the sunset. I trust we will stay in touch.

Always in awe of your passion and knowledge that is unsurpassed. You will be missed.

For many of us, Michael Friedberg has been IWC, introducing us to the brand years ago during the Timezonic Period and standing always diligent in his stewardship of the brand's reputation. I can think of no one who has sewn as much brand seed as he, doing so with as much appreciation for the history of the company as his appreciation for the watches themselves.

As eras end, so move their influences into the chapters of history, and within the history of IWC, Michael Friedberg will forever enjoy his own chapter.

Observed your name for soooo many years here. I have enjoyed watches (and IWC) for years, at least 11 of them so far. But yes, I am a seldom guest. I do not comment that much. I generally prefer to enjoy my watches at my own...
But anyway - HUGE and many thanks for keeping this forum a safe place and in good manner.

I surely don't know you, but that said, stay healthy for years to come, keep on enjoying IWC watches (or any brand for that matter) and live long.
    Simply said, enjoy life!!!
Life yes. How we live. That's the most important.
Watches, IWC or something else - are second after all.
At least in my world :-)

    All the very best,
    Bent

So long and thanks for all the fish!

On a serious note, MF introduced me (as he did for many others) to IWC back 2002 and for that, along with his friendship over the years, I will forever be grateful. I've been away for a long while (life happens) but this made me return!

I wish you the best of everything Michael and I'm sure you won't be a stranger!
