Already!
Exactly.
Classic, definitely!
It's been a classic since 2004. Some watches are just designed that way, particularly if there is a heritage to the watch.
Great pictures, and in my book it's a classic already. I have been wearing it a few days this week :-)
Kind regards,
Clemens
Love my 5001-14 and agree its a classic. Always loved it right from its parent the 5000.
Oliver,
As others have said,it is a classic! You will not be disappointed with this watch. Enjoy it and post some pics when you acquire.
Regards,
Kevin
Ciao Oliver, I am sure this beauty will look great on your wrist!
Keep us posted :-)
It was my first IWC purchase and it will never leave my collection.

Pure and clean design, very appealing, and much cheaper than ref 5449, the next big thing.
Excellent photo, I agree with you, never letting this one go.
Kevin
Thanks for sharing Oliver and keep us posted on your incoming :)
A classic this certainly is.
Not blue - but u guys really have me warming up to blue. I will keep u fellows posted too.
Definitely a classic. Probably only second in desirability to the Big Pilot in IWC's current collection (and that's subjective)

Certainly a classic, although I prefer other versions, like the rose gold and the steel black dial. I certainly would have bought one if I didn't already have the Portuguese Perpetual Calendar.
Kind regards,
Paul
Already a classic!
Thanks for posting these pictures. I own the aquatimer chrono titanium and my next IWC will be the portuguese automatic. In the meantime I'm going after the vintage ingenieur.
certainly a classic: modern but clearly a Portuguese, great size even for the smaller wrist!
I enjoy it every week!
Regards,
Bob

Nad - 100% Classic, then and now!
Best regards
Mark
A classic already Nad but the cal 5000 you own, I like the most, is without date window! :)
Oliver, you forgot ref. 3714. Anathema! LOL
Oliver, Yes the Big Pilot is iconic - but, it's not everyone's watch.
Now, this classic is different. I've yet to come across someone who has put it on the wrist, and not had it looking absolutely great!
So Yes, whilst there are many great IWC to chose from - this watch is one you should definitely add to your collection. And take a leaf from Alan's book - blue is the way to go too! Just make sure your AD delivers it in the same box that mine came in! ...which looks like this!
Best regards
Mark
absolutely and undeniably a classic. it was this watch that made me take notice of iwc for the first time many years ago. it was ahead of its time with its beauty and particularly its SIZE (which many others are now trying to emulate...). it will never ever look old- a definition of a classic in my mind!
