Martina is IWC's new product manager, which in all watch companies is a Very Important Person. More importantly, she's a very capable and interesting executive, and a real asset to all collectors.

The best part of this interview...

is the recognition that things can always be improved and the willingness to share this with the Collector's forum.

    Martina has an interesting background...

Thanks Michael. That is very interesting insight into her role. It's interesting how it is very similar in requirements and execution as in my world of high tech. The IWC product is just far more interesting. :-)

from time to time, I'll try to do more

...while many executives certainly are willing to help, it's not always as simple as it might appear.

In Martina's case, she gave a presentation about the new models to IWC's staff before SIHH. I then happened to sit next to her at a luncheon, and I realized that she was very interesting person and that there was a story here. I don't thnk I could have formulated the questions without those two prior experiences.

As you know, I'm not really a professional journalist, so I'm never sure how "on target" my interviews are. But I feel that if I don't understand (or better yet relate to) the subject, at least a little, I can't convey any understanding to others. And usually I'm infrequently in Schaffhausen, so my ability for those communications is limited.

That said, I have some possible targets in mind for later in 2008. I'll do my best.

    Regards,
    Michael

Excellent interview of an impressive person!

    Great read, Michael.
IWC is lucky to find such a competent person with such an impressive background!
Martina: all the best in reaching new levels in IWC.
