    Hi All,

Found this image on a popular website... I guess it's fantasy redial.... what is your opinion?

    Greetings, Martijn

Are you sure it is a real IWC?

It is a very clean design, but the 7 and the 5 touch the subdial in a way that I don't like very much. But I do like the hands. Retro is so powerful when the result is right. Here I am not completely convinced.

    Kind regards,
Paul, wearing very convincing titan Inge Automatic, with resolutely cut-off 10

    Hello Martijn,

From the other photos that were posted on the auction site it's clear that it is an authentic IWC, but as others have already noted, the dial has definitely been repainted. I should add that the presence of a signature that's not the familiar IWC script doesn't necessarily mean the dial isn't original; there were variations over the years including the use of the IWC 'football' logo, as well as the cases where retailers names were also added to the dial. Lovely to see a C83 Calatrava in gold though, that in and of itself is quite unusual. For comparison I've included a photo of my own gold C83 with a non-typical (albeit authentic) logo.

    Kind regards,
    Michael
