A boutique? (nt)
Maybe Interlaken?
Or a bit more to the south: do I see a palm tree and only a hill, not a mountain? Then it could be Lugano. That last one is a charming town with lots of possibilities.
Kind regards,
Paul, wearing steel VC Portuguese, only boring to you all, who read about the same watch constantly: why bother to have more watches?
You're so close Paul
with your secondary thoughts.......same Canton.....different town.
Got it now ?
Luzern? >>>
Looking at the BP St. Ex, I bet.
Bill
Then my bet is on Locarno
There are 3 AD's in Ticino, I'm not sure what to do in Chiasso, and you maybe too, therefore my bet.
Kind regards,
Paul, wearing steel VC Portuguese
Locarno is correct......

Yes indeed I got a pleasant surprise
when a Steel St Exupery Big Pilot was available to look at. It was reserved for a client but the assistant was very happy to show it to me and also the super big-box that comes with the watch and an Autobiography of Antoine de St Exupery.
I popped into my AD today - still no news on his allocation...so I need to be more patient....

a little more.....
A picture of my IWC travel companions. The chrono was great for obvious reasons: 6.5 h driving time from Basel to Locarno via Sion (the in-laws) and over the Simplon Pass and Centovalli Pass with horendous rainfall on Friday evening was to say the least - Aquatimer weather. The Cousteau spent a lot of time on my wrist over the weekend - but gladly the weather did improve on Saturday morning and luckily (for those enjoying the Moon and Stars festival) Ticino was the only sunny and dry place to be in the whole of Switzerland for Saturday. I am a big fan of Katie Melua - and it was a pleasure to be a VIP guest and although the VIP area at Castello Visconteo was sponsored by another well known watch company there were plenty of IWC watches on display....ranging from Porsche design chrono (blue dial), several 3714 Portuguesers, and a classic Da Vinci in gold too (and others too).

and a little more (the end)
Ascona "just around the corner" of Lake Maggiore is simply a stunning picturesque town and I was very surprised to see an IWC dealer there too. The Pilots display was so charming in between the small and elegant streets around the older part of the town. The lakeside view is really beautiful and the Cousteau Divers was feeling very much at home too. During the 2008 European football championships the German national team had their training camp in Ascona and of course had the special IWC DFB Double chrono dedicated to them and they also left their footprint in the town as well.
All good things come to an end - and luckily the weather was picture postcard perfect all of Sunday for the long drive back over the two passes to Sion and then from there back to Basel before getting home before midnight and logging on to read at the forum.....
A trip to Tessin - a beautiful canton of Switzerland is highly recommended and with at least two places to check out IWC AD's then no other excuses needed.....

Looks great on you
It's a pity that you have to be a bit more patient, but it is always nice to check whether you still like it!
I am surprised too, that the AD let you touch a watch that was reserved for somebody else: being that person I am not sure I would like that. I always ask the AD to put the watch in the safe: no accidental scratches, no bent straps. At least as far as I know, of course.
Kind regards,
Paul, wearing steel VC Portuguese
I was also surprised too.....(nt)
