As many of you know, Andy ordered a VC Aquatimer in early May. He was still waiting a couple of weeks later when I joined the forum. He was still waiting about a month after that when I ordered a VC Aquatimer. He was still waiting about two more months later when I received my VC Aquatimer. He was still waiting on Labor Day... What I'm trying to say is that Andy waited a long time. Fortunately, that wait ended last week and is now nearly forgotten, his longing quelled by the little steel beauty that now adorns his wrist.
I happily agreed to share these photos of Andy's newest pride and joy -- he is too busy admiring it (and sorting through the incredible haul of swag he landed) to have time for such mundane activities.
Andy, let me be the first to offer my hearty congratulations for the newest addition to your quickly growing watch family. May it bring you many years of happiness my friend.
The VC AT is an amazing watch, the more I look at it the more I like it. Andy, I can just imagine how much you've been "suffering" until now, so I expect the joy will be even greater!!!
Congratulations!
And thank you, David, for bringing us the news and the photos. Good job!
Andy, serious congrats for finally getting this. It does seem like a long time coming but glad you're finally in the VCAT club. You've inspired me to swap out for the rest of the week now. Looking forward to some pics.
Andy my friend, it's good to see the patience has finally payed off. Congratulations on this beautiful VC Aquatimer and may you always wear it in good health.
Oh, and if you are too busy to wear it, just send it over to me and I will gladly do that hard job for you :-)
Congratulations Andy. Wishing you many happy times together. If you need an assistant to help you reveal next time - just let me know ;-) this forum camaraderie is great.
I just dropped back down to Planet Earth for the moment. You see, for the last several days I've been on "Cloud 9". As David mentioned, the long...very long wait is finally over. I can't tell you all how excited I am with my new addition, the VC-AT. It is a watch that I have admired from the time I purchased my first IWC (MARK XVI) and joined the Forum almost 2 years ago. It is the only model in my growing collection that has required a wait time due to production and U.S. allocation schedules.
All along the way, my AD, the IWC Regional Mgr. and my new good friend David kept me positive that "The Wait Will Be Worth It". It is only now that I can realize how true that statement was to be. The long wait has made me appreciate even more how stunning this watch is and the joy it has brought me.
Shing...you hit the nail on the head. The "camaraderie" and support from this Forum is what sets it apart from all others. Thank you all for following my adventure and sometimes frustration in acquiring this beautiful piece.
@ Kevin...I now pass the VC-AT torch to you in hopes that it helps lead you to a swift delivery of this unique watch. It would surely be a great addition to your impressive collection.
@ David...a BIG thanks for all the e-mail communications we have shared throughout our VC-AT journeys. I enjoy the "Watch Talk" and sharing what's happening in our worlds, but most of all, the friendship we have developed. I hope to meet you in person as well as many other Forum members in the near future. David, since we had a "common cause" to discuss when we first made our deposit orders for the AT, I wanted to show you first the pic's of me picking up my delivery. Again, many thanks for posting to the Forum and the creative narrative to go with it.
It is with great pleasure to call you my "New Good Friend"...
Thanks for the very kind words, Andy. I'm very happy that you are enjoying the VC AT. I was close to buying a dive watch from another manufacturer when I tried on the Vintage Aquatimer for the first time. That was all it took - I was hooked. This watch stands out from the crowd in a very good way. I enjoy mine immensely.
I too look forward to meeting you. I think the best way to do that is for you to get yourself to Switzerland before Big Brother sends us back to the US (that will be a very dark day in my world). If you come, you may even be able to talk me into taking the IWC factory tour with you. Yes, I'm willing to make that sacrifice.
Andy, sorry for the late responce here...but congrats on finaly getting your watch. And what a great watch it is!
I love my VC AT - and am sure that you will get great pleasure in wearing yours (or even looking for hours a that great movement, through the saphire case back).
