Danke, Herr Kern for your insights and >>>

support of this Forum and its moderator. This is a place many of us spend countless hours reading, learning and, in the end, purchasing IWC models.

    Mr Kern

this great Forum of ours is kindly requesting your support.
I believe we have captured your attention by now.
Please put as a first priority issue the funding of this Forum.
We owe a great deal to M. Friedberg and other IWC employees working for the Forum doing this greatly admired work.
But could you please help this Forum to be not only the best there is but actually the best it can be?

Your help is essential. And highly needed.

    Best regards

    amazing stats...

i was amazed to read that 50% of IWC sales are in house movements. i wouldn't have thought it would be nearly that much.
    very encouraging to read.

Thanks Michael- a great read, but please>>

whomsoever is in charge of communications and distribution of such material might, in future, be able to write "Point Of Sale" rather than using that unfortunate acronym.
As others have mentioned, it is great to hear that the percentage of watch sales with manufacture movements is so high- certainly added value for the company and great inspiration for those working on the development and design side.

Mr Kern, you are a volcano!

Bright, clever, brilliant ideas, the mind always in action, thinking three steps ahead of a normal human being, I think this energy spreads all over IWC products.

I'm very glad IWC strongly believed in the in-house movements production and I'm happy the market is rewarding this choice.

Thank you Michael for the interview, it's nice to see this forum has the privilege to receive this kind of insights.

    Regards,

    Roberto

Indeed, POS =Point of Sale... and

I was very tempted to edit what Herr Kern said with regard to POS, to clarify that --but I decided that wasn't what I should do. I did change one subject-verb agreement, and added the words "thank you" at the end. But I didn't want to change one word with any substantive effect.

When he says POS he means POS --that's what they call it in the industry.

    Regards,
    Michael

The watch industry is in tough times....

it will take some insight and some resolve to make it through in relatively good shape. Here is hoping Mr. Kern is up to the challenge.

    Interesting interview!....

Thank you Michael for bringing it to us. I think Herr Kern reflects succinctly how the marriage of history, tradition-focused design, and good craftmanship can get our favorite watch company through tough economic times.

    Best regards,
    Jim
