This is the Novocento ref. 3545. I think shaped watches are coming back into fashion, and to me this one is a true classic. Besides, where else can you find any solid gold perpetual calendar watch for less than what sometimes is $8000? Not frequently --let alone something as outstanding as this.
But I think the market has overlooked it lately. A sleeper, I would think.

A very nice execution of the Perpetual...
This is a great photo. I do like the beauty of a Perpetual Calendar dial - and this has a solid, classic design.
I would prefer the Moonphase display to be larger, perhaps swapped with the "date" subdial at 6 O'clock.
I have yet to see one of these in person - so I am curious if 27mm x 32mm is as small as it sounds....
Perhaps "the market" shares some of these opinions - keeping the prices rather appealing....

I noticed "T Swiss T" on the dial. I thought it was used to indicate the use of Tritium but I don't see it on the dial?

this reference is from 1988-1995 and..
... more technically ref. 3545 was in the catalogs from those dates. Another model, reference 3546, succeeded it in 1995 and was in the catalogs though 2001. The later model just changed base movement.

same calendar module as Da Vinci
...since that's the only way IWC does perptual calendar wristwatches. The base movement is different --unlike the Da Vinci this is not a chronograph, and here also is without seconds. Later ones (ref. 3536) used a JLC ultra-thin base movement, and I think, without checking, that the earlier ones might have used F.Piguet. But the perpetual calendar module is what Kurt Klaus invented and IWC produced.

a big fan of shaped watches, but this one is a winner for me. It has the understated simplicity I see in the 5001 and is very elegant.

please don't post any more pictures of this watch - for 2 reasons. Firstly, I really want one and can't afford it (and I haven't seen one for less than about £5k) and the pictures just remind me of what I'm missing. Secondly - I don't want others to be reminded of what a beautiful piece it is and thereby make it popular and put the price up! I just want the Novecento to be forgotten about so that one day I can pick one up for a song!
Whenever I drift into thinking about buying a (used) reverso, I remind myself that if I really want a rectangular watch it's this one I should look for.
Have you got a scan of an original catalogue description which you could post, please?
