Most of us around the forum are a bit nuts in one way or other about IWC and their marvellous watches.

In some cultures it is traditional to make some resolutions and I was wondering if there are any interesting IWC watch related resolutions.

I must confess I dont make resolutions as such but I do try to reflect on any current behaviours and decide if I need to make any fine adjustments.......so in that case it can be close to a resolution.

Perhaps in that context I will try to learn more about the mechanical side of watchmaking during the year - taking hopefully a form of watchmaking course and reading as much as I need to do so to be able to converse at a "mechanical level" here and away from the forum.

This was not a New Year's resolution but...

I decided to wait until after the new IWC watches were revealed before I bought another watch. Of course, a few days later I saw a picture of Bob Bunnik's GST 3756 which got me to do a little research. And I will be picking one up in Switzerland just before next week's Collector's Meeting. Resolution or not... LOL

My resolution is less edifying than yours

I've decided that any money I save above a (high for me) total can go on a new watch. Current object of desire is a 666 or 866 ing - although there are a couple of non-IWC watches that have recently caught my eye, but they are much more expensive. If I have an exceptional year and exceptional will power and don't buy any other toys (guitars, motorbikes, etc) then maybe I could get two!

    Regards,

    HG

i'm going to try and not go crazy this year...

but instead buy one "special" watch.
i would love a 5021 or 5022 but that might be "too" special and i would love a BP but will have to wait o se what SIHH brings.
i also resolve to learn more about the IWC movements as i feel i am a little lacking in that department.

    2) same as Andrew......trying to research more and more about the different watches and their movements and mechanical components :)

    You are so right Andrew!

I had not considered the fact that I needed an IWC related resolution. or two.

I am off on the quest to identify mine. :-)

Good call Indbir, you will love it.......

I have recently acquired one and cannot take it off my wrist. Its the best value perpetual calender on the market today. I think the GST perpetual was a little ahead of its time.
    Enjoy the meeting

Resolution...Isn't that the name of one of >

    Capt. Cook's ships Andrew?

    In other news, I ordered a IW378901.

    Top Gun - great choice.

and indeed the Resolution was a ship that Cook captained in teh 1770's.....if my history memory is still in tact.

Looking forward to hear about your Top Gun Chrono soon.

    Andrew
