A few, like me, thought 2015 would be the year of the Da Vinci, where it became the year of the Portuguese. It was a bit unclear what to think about the Da Vinci family, as it was, and still is, mentioned with three models in the online catalogue of this site, while it was omitted altogether in the 2014/2015 printed catalogue: will these watches be mentioned again in the 2015/2016 catalogue?

I can imagine the Da Vinci was talked about at the SIHH, there were a few forum members present in Geneva that like the Da Vinci family. Is there an update on what to expect about this family?

    Kind regards,
    Paul

I didn't hear any news but I guess it will be either later this year or on the next year when the DaVinci will be updated. It's the next family that will be done I think.

    Paul,

Sadly it has been ommitted from the 2015/16 catologue, but given time i'm sure they will be back.

Thank you for this update. So, in a formal way, the Da Vinci family doesn't exist anymore, the omission from two consecutive catalogues cannot be seen as a fluke. Hopefully the absence will not last as long as the one of the Ingenieur family, that was resurrected in 2005 after an absence of about 20 years.

    Kind regards,
    Paul

Originally 2016 was going to be the year of the Da Vinci. But for several reasons that plan appears to be deferred to beyond one year.

Beyond one year, after the original 2016: that might be 2018! IWC, 150 years old, presents with a Big Bang the stunningly new Da Vinci collection: wouldn't that be a fantastic way to celebrate? My anticipation starts right now!

    Kind regards,
    Paul
