OK, my watches were at work, one at a time. Here at home, on a lazy Sunday morning, Rimsky Korsakov through the radio speakers, they join in an out-of-the-box GTG: a last Hallo! to you through the HTC mobile phone, e-mail, laptop, Photobucket, forum. You almost would think that there should be a shorter route to you. Enjoy your Sunday. Up we go to 200 entries?
Kind regards,
Paul
Here are my five late entries, maybe I'll try and take some more before the deadline tomorrow. It's a fantastic competition, no matter what, it's been great trying to take some nice pictures.
All taken using a Samsung Galaxy Note

Entries 6 & 7 (Samsung Galaxy Note)

Entries 1-6. Photos taken with an iPhone 4s. This was so much harder with just a cell phone camera.

Tracy, thanks a lot for this great competition. More than 200 replies and more than 15,000 views. This is amazing!
The competition rule that only allows images taken with a mobile phone boosted our creativity. And of course the very generous prizes you are giving away also help.
Many thanks go to Joe White as well for volunteering as the jury. This will be a difficult job!
Here is my final selection. All images were taken with an iPhone 4 - no cropping, just resizing. I had a lot of fun during several photo sessions outside in nature and at home. This really made me rediscover the beauty of my watches.
Reproduction and Original

Spring Dive (divers belong into the water)

Redial

If you look closely you can see how I did it. Finding the optimum position for the two watches the light and the camera took a while. ;-)
Rebirth of Venus (Boticelli reinterpreted)

Way Ahead

A MAN's Bath

Thorsten, I swear I had the idea for this image before I saw yours. ;-)
For the Bronze

Ray of Light

Ardoise

Ring of Fire

I have to explain how I took this image so that you believe me that I did not edit it. I had to find out that the iPhone is not able to focus close enough to receive a format filling closeup of a watch. I could have cropped an image. But I thought about how you realise a closeup with a normal camera. You use a close up lens! There are special close up lenses for the iPhone but I don't own one. Which more approriate close up lense could one use for this competition than a watchmaker's loupe? So I tried it and it worked! This explains the circular image. My loupe has a brass fitting that holds the lens. The light that is reflected by this brass fitting creates the "Ring of Fire". The light source that I used is a halogen spot light. I discovered that if this light is shining almost directly into the lens it deceives the automatic white balance of the iPhone camera which results in this copper tone. Holding the loupe in the correct position in front of the camera lens while framing the caliber perfectly with all details in focus generating the copper tone and positioning the reflection of the light on the sapphire back of the watch in the center of the caliber was not an easy task...

Andreas
great competition, beautiful photos...
here a last minute contribution of a Bernese scene..
I think I have a few more I can add before I fill up my 10 shots so here are a couple last minute entries. As fantastic as this post is I think it is lacking in lume shots so here is one:
It is not difficult to see which one this is:
