after seeing andrew thomas's more or less nos aquatimer 812 AD last year october during the collectors forum meeting in schaffhausen, i couldn't resist finding one for myself.

so the hunt went on....... and as i had to visit southern germany last week i finally had delivered my own in munich. before delivery it was serviced and got a new glass , sealing and crowns. no polishing of course !

it was delivered with the original box and guarantee booklet. also included was a nos ref 11 or 13 (what is the difference ?) "rice and bread" bracelet. as i preferred the tropic 66 strap, i could find some nos ones in the usa. i finally fitted a vintage buckle and ready was the watch.

One of the best vintage IWC watches

Many congratulations Michiel. Delighted to read you know have it - and also that you have the complete original paperwork etc. Thats truly great. A really very beautiful watch in great condition.

When I was in Brussels last Friday with Tonny we realised that the two crowns (when looking side on) are not aligned. Take a look. I was wondering if the two crowns ofthe VC Aquatimer are aligned or slightly offset like the (1)812 AD Aquatimer ? Do you know

    Bracelets

    Hello
bracelet n.11 has rounded, "beads of rice" links (see picture). I can understand the joys of the Aquatimer, probably the favourite of my vintage IWCs together with the ref. 325 Portugieser. And the Aquatimer is so .. contemporary still, so wearable.
    Enjoy this beauty
    Ciao

    thanks franco

your picture was very informative, it is a ref 13 which is included.

interesting to see that the original product sheet only refers to a ref 12 (with flip-lock) but i think that in those days also other bracelets were oem fitted,

    thanks again, michiel

all 812 that survived diving trips are here on the forum. Last few years I think a dozen were presented here. I'm glad these watches find their interested collectors.

Michiel... I think this 812 will have a great him next to your 666 and 766. Nice vintgae collection you're building!

this misalignment is on all 812/816/822

and is (I think) because one is for the bezel and one for the movement...
