I believe that August Vogl worked for Schaffhausen before it was taken over by IWC. I have access to a clock with August Vogl, Wien on the dial. I am interested in any information anyone might have on August Vogl and his association with Schaffhausen and clock/ watch making.

Hello, I came across a (in my eyes) very rare IWC Pocket Watch with a special finished cal. 52 from ca. 1900. Never seen before and no comparable example found in the net. The silver case is signed: "AUGUST VOGL WIEN". As I live in Austria that makes it interesting for my. As I´m not a collector of pocket Watches I would be glad, to get some more information on this item. How can I post pics? Thx to all. Gerd

I believe August Vogl was a jeweler in Wien, selling IWC watches. At that time, more jewelers put their name on the dial or case as a private label.

What do you think about the extraordinary decorated movement? It is not gildet, but polished steel and rich encraved. How can I post pics from it?
