Top Gun straps are leather lined so I would stay away from moisture of any degree as much as possible. The XVII being a strap size 21mm, nothing from IWC comes to mind as far as waterproof ( members, chime in if you know of something ). A custom strap in WR material would be needed. However, I would not consider using the Mark as a swimming or showering watch even though it has a screw in crown and WR rating of 6 bar. AT model's can handle that requirement perfectly.

Andy
Your solution is easy - get the bracelet :-)
BK60,
Skule's recommendation is the perfect WR solution. If though a strap is your
preference and your necessity for WR is due to body sweat/humidity shortening the life of the strap, then another suggestion is to find one lined in rubber vs. leather. This option can be requested when ordering from a custom strap maker. In addition, I know of one Swiss luxury watch manufacturer that supplies rubber lined straps as OEM. You could certainly order a strap from them.
Hope this info helps in your search.

agreed , but from where?
i have written to both the HK boutique and IWC themselves about availability of this bracelet sometime back, and haven't been given a response yet.
i also wrote to ace jewellers ( i think they are major agents of IWC ), but same story ... no reply.
if anyone can get me info on where to buy a bracelet, i'd be thankful.
BK60....where are you located?
I am located in india
Sorry...can't help with your location but suggest to continue to try contacting AD/Boutique's or IWC directly as ordering a bracelet for your model should not be a problem. There may be a waiting time if not in stock.
You might try addressing your request to IWC - ATTENTION: Customer Relations Manager
Good Luck,
Andy
There are authorised dealers in India where you can place your order for straps bracelets and watches. Check the Retail and Service at the top.
just wanted to clarify one thing here : the mk.XVII takes 20mm , not 21mm.
The Mark XVII is available on the bracelet as the IW326504, so a bracelet should be available through an AD.
BK60:
Yes, you are correct, 20mm. Forgive my mistake (21mm) as I was replying to a number of postings that involved strap sizes.
Even though the Mark XVII was enlarged to a 41mm diameter from the previous XVI @ 39mm, IWC retained the 20mm lug.
Best,
Andy
here they are .... photos of hirsch accent on mk. XVII
what does everyone think of this combo ?
