Big Pilot on a winder?

Should I store my new Big Pilot on a watch winder? When I put it on a winder, the power reserve stays wound to the max. Is it better to let the power reserve wind down and then rewind when it gets low? How low should I let it go? Thanks for the help.

I sometimes keep mine on a winder...

...but strictly as a matter of convenience to avoid resetting. A winder will not really help a watch, at least if you wind it manually every so often. Keep in mind that vintage watches from the 1940s and 1950s can work fine, and they all predate winders.

It is theoretically better to not have the power reserve wind down. The watch in theory has its best and most consistent accuracy at a state of full wind.

How often will you wear it?

One of the things I love about the BP is the seven day reserve which allows me to wear the watch a couple of times a week, not put it on a winder and not have to re-set it; I just put it on and it's going. The BP supposedly could run 8.5 days but is limited to 7 in order to maintain a high level of accuracy.

One of the things I find most enjoyable about this hobby is setting my timepieces. A long time ago I had a winder but sold it, and other then a perpetual I really do not see the need for a winder.
