Big Pilot Strap Removal

I have been mulling over getting a second strap for my 5004 - the brown buffalo strap that came with the 5002. I'm curious as to how hard it would be to change/remove the stap myself. The strap is a tight fit and quite stiff due to its thickness at the lugs; maybe this is a job best left to a professional. Has anyone else contemplated doing this?

I have changed the strap on my Portuguese Automatic. I used a spring bar tool and a good deal of care and managed quite easily.

The spring bar tool can slide between the strap and the lug without damaging either.

If in doubt, any good watch dealer will do it for you, probably without charge.
