I haven't tried it and I'm more inclined to try a blue alligator Santoni.
If you try the brown be sure to post some pictures.

Good call on the blue strap as well, just trying to think of options to switch it up a bit, I do the same with some of my other brand watches and it feels like owning a new watch with a band swap.

Love to see any other Portuguese stap switchers!

    Thanks

    Dick,
Andrew posted some pictures last week that showed blue Santoni straps.
I'm going to inquire at the boutique this weekend, I'll let you know.

    Regards,
    Kevin

The price of the Santoni straps makes me blue.

If there are blue Santonis, I MUST have one for my Pisa, whose strap is fairly well worn. I'll have Patrick on my speed dial. just awaiting your word! Oh heck - maybe I'll just call him now. Why wait another day? :-)

A while ago there were some pictures of the white gold blue dial Portuguese Perpetual on a brown Pilot's strap with rivets. Even though it certainly was sporty it's not something I would do. Unfortunately the search function doesn't work so I can't find them. I really liked the tan brown strap on my Portuguese Automatic with white dial, the result on the Pisa Perpetual though was a bit less. Maybe a blue (Santoni?) strap would be nice.

    Kind regards,

    Clemens

I like where you are going with the brown strap on the white gold/blue dial PPC. While I have a couple Santoni straps on my watches - and they seem "all the rage" - you may consider the OEM Chocolate Brown IWC strap on that watch. It's all a matter of taste and opinion - but, I bet that brown strap on the blue dial would look pretty solid.

Guys, wanted to give you an update. Went into the flagship and met with Patrick today, we looked at the brown santoni as well as the light and dark brown Portuguese straps.....the verdict

No, just doesn't fit right with the blue face, removes the elegance and balance. Also tried the blue 7 day strap and that looked a bit better but also a bit on the lighter side to the dial, of course it will darken with age but still went back to black.

Was a bit disappointed as for I enjoy the versatility of feeling like you have a new watch with different straps...but not complaining!

I did here they are planning on a black santoni so although not making a 'new watch' might bring a different texture and perspective.

Thanks and hope today finds you all well!

So there is no blue Santoni strap right? just the standard iwc blue alligator strap that comes with some of the Portu 7-day and Chronos?

If there is one I am interested but I asked this at the South Coast Boutique couple of months ago and was told only different brown shades are available as Santoni. If there are new ones, this is new update.

Paul and Ray, not sure where the confusion is but black Santonis exist and have so for quite a while. Check with an IWC store or your AD, if they say they don't exist tell them they need to check with IWC in Schaffhausen again. Unfortunately Shings pictures aren't available now but he has posted many pictures of different black Santonis over the past 1-1,5 year.

Some of them even look like very dark blue (even if they are classified as black) - maybe that would be something for you?

    Update
Just to be clear, I have had it confirmed that there is NO IWC Blue Santoni available. Patrick at the NYC Boutique researched it for us all the way up the chain. Sorry all, sure would have been sweet.

Agree with Skule re black Santoni straps being available, their hue is not black black but has almost a very dark purple hue. Being croc and hand dyed I would caution no two straps are identical, so various hues will be encountered I suspect.
Would have been very surprised if blue dial and brown strap go together. Blue suit and brown shoes certainly don't go together and would certainly cause comments from within old institutions in the City of London. The old expression sky and earth don't mix would be used.
Whilst black Santoni straps are available they do not have that variance in shades like the two brown variants do. Blue Santoni straps for an option for Laureus 22mm models and where black straps are used would be a great addition but,....are they available now or in the near future?

...and that would make one of favorite IWC's even more drop-dead gorgeous!

BLUE-HOO....yes, would have been sweet. Let's hope IWC hears our call.

Santoni on blue dials and ardoise, black and even silver dials would have been a nice upgrade even if confined to 22mm lugs as before. Shame it's not an option with that lovely patina. Oh well!
