Book delivery in September?

My wife ordered the new IWC book in April via Amazon as a birthday present for me.
Today she received the following message from Amazon:

"Unfortunately, the release date for the item(s) listed below was changed by the supplier, and we need to provide you with a new estimated delivery date based on the new release date:

Manfred Fritz, Paulo Coelho "IWC Schaffhausen: Engineering Time Since
1868"

 Estimated arrival date: September 03 2010 - September 09 2010"

Is the book really in short supply or is Amazon wrong?

depends on who their supplier(s) are...

IWC of course doesn't print books nor distribute them. There are supply networks, including sub-distributors for any publisher. Much depends on internal allocations, customs procedures, etc.

Some people have the book now and others are expecting it as late as October. I noted that one major bookseller offers it at a discounted price, and I suspect they might not be first with deliveries as a consequence.

Sorry --I don't know more about any given retailer's delivery schedules.

Ordered min etwo months ago and already payed in full as well.

No news from Amazon in USA

I have no emails from them and expected delivery date remains at end of October for my order. Oh well, hopefully like fine wine, it will be appreciated more with age.
