    Hi All,

Is there any plan from IWC bringing out a midsize BP like the midsize Mark for women?
I really love the BP design. The size is just too large for me...
Are there any more people wishing for a 42mm BP?

Hi, although I don't have a crystal ball to see into the future, I would think it highly unlikely that IWC will play around with the size of this iconic watch.

When the "Father & Son" edition was introduced, the 'son' model was NOT a smaller version of the BP, and this would have been the best opportunity to have a smaller vision. Happily (sorry), IWC chose not to do this.

The mid-size would be the Mark XVI. Same basic styling cues and IWC heritage.

Making watches bigger is not so much of a problem. The movement gets a bit more space, quite useless for it. You can see this when the watch has a see through back. You may notice this procedure when the dial has subdials or a date, they become more centralised. The Portuguese Grande Complication hides this in a very clever way.

Making watches smaller often is not possible, as the movement may not fit. For the Big Pilot there is no alternative movement that fits in a smaller case and has the same functions. Developing such a movement is very expensive and not to be expected.

I agree that at the moment the Mark XVI Classic is the best watch to choose if the Big Pilot is too big, and you like to have only the time and date functions. A bit bigger is the Chrono. Both are great watches.

I think it possible that in the future a Pilot's watch may appear with the 80110 movement. That would fit in a 42 mm case. An Ingenieur with a Pilot's watch case and dial, this has been done before. However, knowing IWC, such a watch would not be 42 mm but bigger.

    Kind regards,
    Paul

There is a ladies version of the Mark X11 which might fit the bill

    Hello Patrokle

I doubt there ll ever be a smaller BP, size is part of the myth that carries this watch.
By the way, warm welcome to the Forum.

Hi, Some time ago Niky posted lovely pictures of her BP in her small wrist.
This watch is incredible even if the wrist is small.

Niky, please post a new picture for Patrokle!!!
    We miss you here

I think that the Mk XVI is what you should be looking at. I can't imagine that IWC will go with the idea of a "Not So Big Pilot".....

Nad, I second your call here. Some things should simply remain unchanged!

I totally feel you, the BP looks so good over the counter, but sadly, its not going to fit me, or rather, I'm not going to fit it. Maybe some training in the gym will help, we'll see.
