This is my 1st post on the forums, having searched the net far and wide on how to solve my problem i decided to join this forums with hope i would get a solution.
I have a BPP edition 2011, it is in 2022 right now due to my thinking after 10 years it will reset back to 2011.
What can i do to get ut back to year 2012.
I'm sorry if i sound like i have no clue cause i actually don't, the watch was a gift and im just trying to get to know the history of iwc watches such.
Chalkie is correct, the only solution is a trip back to an IWC service center, or wait. Waiting is not a likely option. Do not attempt to go backwards with the quick set option, it will do significant damage.
segmatic, are there authorised dealers in your country? they should be able to take your watch, send it to the appropriate service centre on your behalf, and keep you posted back on progress by liaising on your behalf with the service centre. you can see if there are ADs in your country by searching on this website.
Do you have the instruction booklet that comes with the watch? That should explain a lot.
The watch does not reset back, ever. It goes only one way, ahead. To set it back, the mechanisme is taken apart. You can take it to à dealer in your country. They can send to à servicecentre.

No authorised dealer in Nigeria which is where i stay.
I will go on holidy to the UK over the summer and sort it out there. Thanks alot Vahalis for clearing up the misconception on the calender resetting, wish i had actually done more research before moving it 10 years ahead, at the time it was just 10 days ahead.
You guys have been of immense help thanks alot.
I have checked on here and seen a host of dealers in London but can anyone give me a rough idea how long it usually takes when these dealers send the watch off and return it?
I ask cause i would probably book my holidy for the length of time it would take roughly.
This has got to be done at a service centre rather than a retail shop. The one in London has a Post Box address rather than a physical address which is not advertised for a number of reasons.
In due course someone with knowledge of what needs doing will no doubt answer this but I do not think its a job that can be done easily as it probably means a strip down, then a clean and a service and reassemble and then all the testing and adjusting. You may well have to pay for this and it may take anything from 3 weeks to 8 weeks and that is assuming no damage has been done. If you have not tried to turn it back then it's safe to continue wearing it. When you take it in to a London Dealer, I suggest that you use a Dealership that is small independent and not part of a multiple dealership and not at an airport. Bring the guarentee card when you take the watch in and when you collect it make sure you have the instruction manual with you to avoid making the same mistake. Under no circumstances let anyone try and fix it in Nigeria no matter how brilliant they claim they are. There is a correct way of stripping a watch and there are wrong ways and to correct the calendar error including year month day and date and moon all having to be done in a certain order and to certain positions of that I have no doubt.
Hi Segmatic, As stated in the previous replies, the calendar on your watch can not be reversed by the owner or retailer, nor does it operate with a 4 year cycle back to zero. By design it is mechanically programmed, through a complicated series of wheels and levers, to indicate all permutations of the Gregorian Calendar for the next 300 years or so. If you had advanced it by a couple of weeks, it may have been possible to reset it under your sales guarantee or if advanced by a couple of months at a Maintenance Service charge. Unfortunatly, as you have advanced it by 10 years(!!!)(must have taken you a long time), your watch will have to be completely serviced and this will be chargeable. It is so far advanced that every part of the mechanisim will have to be removed and reset. In doing so the very precise lubrication will be disturbed so the whole movement will have to be cleaned and re-lubricated. The maximum time for repair of your watch in the IWC UK workshops would be about 4 weeks but you must also take into account delivery time from and to your dealer. Leo
