Calibre 89 - 1940s

Whats the history with this model? having it restored by IWC at the moment.

nice and interesting watch you have. Looks like early fourties', International Watch Co script without Schaffhausen below. Are you sure it is Cal. 89, which was first produced in 1946?

They've identified it as a Calibre 89 during the diagnostic and provided the serial No. as well. I looked the serial No. must be late 40s. 

Nice piece you have there — always amazing to see these early IWC models still around. The dial and script definitely give off that early-40s vibe. If IWC is restoring it, you’ll probably get the most accurate confirmation on whether it’s truly a Cal. 89 or an earlier movement from the pre-’46 period.
Either way, it’s a beautiful bit of history. Excited to hear what details they share once the restoration is done.
