They look like welded/fixed bars, but since they spin freely, they're obviously not. Anyone know how they're installed, or what they're even called? If one breaks, can a screwbar of equal diameter be subbed in, in a pinch, or would I be forced to send the whole case back to IWC just to replace the bar?

...dang, any takers? Was thinking it might be a female springbar, but that doesn't explain the slight rings around each end of the bar. A fixed pin maybe?

As far as I remember, these bars were not intended to be removed.

That's largely what I've gathered as well. I'm more concerned about the event of one breaking (I've broken springbars before, as I'm sure most of us have), in which case I'd have to send the whole thing to IWC for replacement? Just seems weird that there isn't a spare I could keep on hand in such an event.

As this bar is designed to allow for easy bracelet/strap changes, I would expect it would be fairly durable. And as a dive watch, I would hope it would be extremely durable!
