Ceramic

I have never purchased a ceramic watch, i have always felt comfortable with stainless steel, and never been interested in gold. What is the advantage of the ceramic and titanium materials that they are using in the new models? Is the ceramic more scratch resistant? I love the new pieces, but am hesistant about the materials used.
