Interesting comments. Your alternatives are nice. However, pricing is going to constrain moving into the catagories you mention. If indeed a MARK requires additional space to accommodate a in-house, IMHO I think the trade off for a in-house with display back vs. giving up a Faraday cage would be acceptable in this particular case.
Alan - speculation will lead to disappointment at the end; the final product will not be able to comply with all those requests, wishes, ideas. MF stated it correctly.
The point of fantasy is that it is not true, that is, to play with all kinds of ideas. Harmless pleasure, sometimes leading to something special and new. The presumption that this will lead to disappointment is maybe only true for the one who makes this statement.
Well, I am pretty sure that Michael will know exactly what he is speaking of: "On model and features, the problem with speculation is that people can get disappointed or there can be group demand that can't be met." He is one of the persons who know what will come...
The moment you agree with Michael is the moment I become wary. I stand by what I wrote, I at least am not so quickly disappointed after I played around with some ideas and something different happens. The worst thing that can happen is that I don't like a watch. Then I don't buy it. By the way, there are a lot of watches that I like and that I don't buy either.
All I meant was that no one watch model will ever please everyone on this forum. Plus some people may have well-intended but impractical expectations: an exclusive new movement, substituting a movement to an existing watch, etc.
Well...if I read this right, "substituting a movement to an existing watch" we can now eliminate the MARK, PILOT CHRONO, WORLD TIMER or any other pilot that currently does not have a in-house. Still open is the possibility that a new Pilot with a in-house will be introduced b/4 the CF3 is officially announced.
I guess I wasn't clear. I thought one person wrote here said he had s watch and speculated he might work a movement exchange as the new CF3. That won't happen.
Thanks for that clarification Michael. Yes, you are correct that someone was thinking that there could maybe be the opportunity to exchange a in-house into a already owned non in-house and call that a "personal version" CF3. OK...I will give them credit for some real creative speculation on that one.
So moving on, sounds like our pilot non in-house models are still in contention as a CF3. ( Hoping I didn't misunderstand your clarification )
To sum up....YIPPPEEEE !!
Thanks Michael..this is a great posting as it was intented to be. Enjoying all the participation, comments and dreams.
Great! Lets all fantasize a bit.In the end it's all harmless jocularity, because those at Schaffhausen, who know best by the way, will create a watch that most of us will like. Regards. Kenneth.
I will say that Mr. Regulateur and I agree on more things than not, at least in general and relative to our respect for IWC watches in particular. I certainly like and appreciate the watches in his collection!
