Yesterday, I added a SS micro adjustable bracelet to my CFP after seeing several of them in Amsterdam last week. Not only is it a summer time necessity in hot, humid weather, but it is also a great option to the equally beautiful, but less summer time friendly, leather strap.

Interestingly, my wife favors the leather strap, but understood the need for a warm weather option. I suspect each will get equal wrist time, but in entirely different times of the year.

What is your opinion...steel or leather or both?

I dove back into my basement isolation booth to get a comparison to the leather strap photos I posted a couple of days ago:

    The leather strap:

As you know, this watch really belongs to Giovanni. I am just sharing it and wear it in his memory. I am thankful I have this memory of him in my collection.

While I was at it, I took a tour around the CFP just for the fun of it.

I hope you enjoy this as much as I do and as I will. Clearly, not getting this CFP when introduced in 2014 was a blunder. But this is now corrected and with a very important element…it is a lasting memory on my missed friend.

Wow! Bill, these are the best CF3 pictures I ever have seen. Congrats to this artful catches!
I also use both - leather strap in winter, bracelet in summer. Generally I think the leather strap especially with folding clasp fits the best to the CF3.It just looks perfect to me.
On the other hand the bracelet gives the black deal and the orange hands and markers more presence and I like the heavy feeling on my arm. My wife always says its "a typical men-watch - big and heavy" :-) besides I can go to swim in summer ... imho both options have their pros - but there are no cons.
    Best,
    -Christian

I like them both. The steel bracelet is in itself a masterpiece of mechanical engineering too!

I agree with Mark and Christian...I like them both. I was fortunate enough to be present in Schaffhausen when many of our forum friends collected their CFP's. Ralph had his delivered with the steel bracelet and I was struck how it changed the look (as previously mentioned) by highlighting the black dial. I'm not big on fabric straps, but I quite like the one Jarrod switched to for the Summer. It's a beautiful watch on leather, fabric or steel!

As much as I like that bracelet, and totally understand the usefulness in summer, simply for the looks I prefer the original leather strap :-)

Then again variety makes life more interesting!

Great photography Bill, and I also like both. I do the same swap on my Mark XVII LPP and I enjoy going from leather to steel as much as going 'backwards' again. It's just fun to have to different watches basically!

Thanks again for the great pictures!

Awesome pics of the CF3 Bill. Love the bracelet but I'm really happy with the after market canvas strap I got for mine.

I love the bracelet, too, Bill. Just a word of warning- take it off every once in a while and carefully examine the little buttons that release the links and make sure they are fully engaged (not pushed in). I almost dropped my watch and almost lost some links after mine 'fell apart' after months of wearing it- somehow the little buttons had been pushed in on a couple of links.
But, it is a great looking and feeling bracelet, and I still have mine on it.
