Choosing an Aquatimer

Hello all-
I'm looking at the Aquatimer line and am contemplating some of the differences- titanium vs. stainless steel, rubber strap vs. bracelet, chrono vs. split. Would a stainless bracelet designed for a 42mm case fit a Cousteau with a 44mm case (are the lugs the same)? Any input would be helpful, thanks.

Well, I choose recently for the stainless steel version with bracelet as you can see in these pics. Arguments for me to get to this choice are:
- non chrono: I like the clean dial better, as well as the two visually the same symetrically located crowns.
- stainless steel: I found the yellow and the luminous 5 minute markings too sporty and I fancied the look of the steel better as well (and I do not really need a chrono).
- bracelet: a little bit more suitable with a suit I believe (personal view). But I might get the rubber strap later.

With your question about the Cousteau version I cannot help you but I am sure someone else on this forum can and will.

Hi, I have a Aquatimer Chrono with titanium bracelet

Reason:
-I think the Yellow is pretty unique and can tell you are an IWC fan from far away.
-Titanium color is awesome and the finish looks rough like stainless steel
-stronger and more resistant to scratches, which you will need for a 42mm dial

PS. if price is not an issue the chrono split would be the choice. As the mechanism is much more complex which mean can keep its value

I own a steel version but I bought the rubber strap and the steel bracelet. Switching is very easy and really makes it a complete other watch.

Titanium is really personal, I like the weight of steel and the polished sides. But Ti is also great and Yellow looks awsome!

Choosing an Aquatimer

I have both the titanium Aquatimer 2000 and the steel Aquatimer GST. The GST is currently on the wrist of my brother and I do wear the titanium Aquatimer a lot during weekends. It is a great looking watch and I really like the yellow accents on the dial. I also noticed that it has great scratch resistance and it wears very comfortable on the wrist (even beter than the GST which is quite heavy). In the end you should choose the watch that appeals the most to you. You cannot go wrong with any of the models, because..... well..... they are all IWC ;-)

I really like the split minute complication and I think the size of the split minute is just right.

Thank you all for your responses. I have to say that the only thing about the Aquatimers that I am not crazy about is the square end of the hour hand; for some reason I prefer a point (I just love the hands on the Fliegers). Nonetheless, I have found that it is less noticeable on the chronographs - and I do not yet own a chronograph. I also love the size and look of the Cousteau divers chronos, the colors make them a little different and, yes, I really like fish, so that is the way I am leaning.
