a great souvenir from our Antwerp GTG
MF, thanks for selecting Jim for the latest edition of Collector's Interview.
Jim, this article really captures your passion for IWC watches, but also it captures your affection for the Forum and its members. I agree with you that a very important part, if not the most important part, of being a participant here is meeting and getting to personally know a great group of people.
I am proud to be your friend and, more importantly, to meet and have great times both in Philadelphia and in Taylor,TX with you and the Devine Ms. D.
Fantastic article and so nice to learn more about our IWC Family and Community.
Jim I look forward to meeting you and Dorothy one day, either in Schaffhausen, Austin or Toronto. Or maybe even New York :o)
Bravo! A nice insight into one of our great IWC friends. Thanks, Jim, for sharing yourself, and thanks MF for the report.
Nelson
Another awesome interview, so interesting to learn more about fellow collectors.
Jim's still on my to-meet-IRL-list, haven't been in Austin for years, hope to get there in a not too distant future.
Thx
/Anders
Really nice interview that so very well captures the specialness of our friends Jim and Dorothy. It reminds me of the several times I have been able to spend time with Jim and Dorothy in person, from Austin to Philadelphia to Zurich and Schaffhausen. I hope there will be another opportunity soon!
Another great read, about a great IWC collector and friend. Thanks MF for posting it.
Of course, no post can truly reflect the true spirit of Jim when it comes to outlining his southern gentleman like nature, but we sure do see his passion shine through for IWC timepieces, the forum and the friendships made there.
I am proud to call him FRIEND, not to mention the lovely Dorothy too!
Another fine installment of a great series of interviews Michael!
Having gotten to know Jim thru this brilliant forum over the past 6 years I loved reading more about this southern Gentleman and his gentle wife. Like Anders said, looking forward to an IRL event Jim - and to reading all your future posts here.
"see" you soon :-)
The collector series is one of my favourite on the forum.
Thanks for another fine interview Michael.
Jim - great to learn more about yourself and Dorothy. I love they way you were introduced to the brand and your story as a collector. I hope to meet you both one day - if not in Austin or at a collectors' GTG, then I'm extending the invite if ever you manage to make it to Melbourne!
Another great interview, thank you MF.
Am honoured to call our esteemed collector Jim, one of my friends.
Regards,
Thang

I second that emotion.
Hi globetrotter Jim. There is a small country missing in your travels. You are hereby invited to Portugal for an IWC gtg accompanied with great food and better wines. No beef BBQ though. The best thing on the grill is fish, arguably the best in the world. Ask Nelson and Michael. :-)
Great read, thanks Jim and MF.
Dorothy,Jim, we had a lot of fun together but not enough time. You're always welcome back.
Thank you Jim and MF for another very interesting interview. I like this "collectors inside" information very much.
Cheers Chris
I'm happy I could learn more about you Jim in this short but rich interview. Thank you for bringing it public, Jim and Michael!
Thank you all for your comments on the interview. I was honored that Michael chose me to be part of this ongoing collectors' profile series. As I said in the interview, Dorothy and I are enriched by the friendships we've made here and look forward to seeing more of our community in the future. It appears that we need to schedule a trip to the coast of Iberia to sample grilled fish when travel to Europe happens again!
If any of you ever have a yen to experience Texas, let me reiterate our invitation to let us host you and show you the sights (and tastes). It is always our pleasure to give back what members of this community have given us. I have not met any of our Asian collectors and I hope one day to have that opportunity. In the meantime, I will continue to "see" y'all on the forum...a very good place to spend some time.
Great reading about you, Jim! Greetings from a fellow "collector" from Asia.
I visited Dallas a couple of times, but have never been to Austin.
If I am ever in the neighborhood, I will definitely let you know ahead of time. Would love to try some of those authentic Texan BBQ that you mentioned someday!
