I'm sure this has been asked a number of times-I did actually try to search the topic before I bothered you folks but...

Do you have any words of wisdom or pitfalls to avoid?

Do you have any vendors you trust that offer sharp pricing?

Does a deployment buckle need to be ordered, and if so-any idea how much $$?

Currently I have a Rolex GMT-II that was a gift of my former employer, I'm not too fond of the man so I think I'd like to try to sell/swap the Rolex and move into the IWC

    any thoughts?

    thanks very much

    Welcome Paul.

I think you are referring to the 371401 Portuguese Chrono? The Portuguese Chrono's are very nice watches. As for pitfalls and pricing, I can't help you on that one and discussing prices isn't permitted as per forum rules.

    Kind regards,

    Clemens

    Paul -

the Portuguese Chrono is a nice watch. My wife has one in steel (don't take that as a dig on the watch - it's just that she is cool) with the blue strap and blue hands and numbers.

The steel deployants are available through your authorized dealer and are not that expensive. They run about 25-50% more than what a replacement IWC leather strap for that watch would cost.
