Hi, I'm thinking of beginning a search for a GST Perpetual to add to the collection (I'm leaning towards the salmon dial but I need to check one out in person first!).  Looking online I've seen a number of different box types that have been sold along with these watches.  The most common box type I've seen is the following:

But I've also see this wood box type:

And this wood box with what looks like a combination lock:

Is it possible that all of these different box types were original to the watches, or is only one of these types truly "correct" for all GST Perpetuals.  Thanks for your help as I begin my search.

Hi, I'm almost certain mine came in a black box, like Box 1, but it should have a small elastic strap next to the watch which can hold the glass tube with the spare millenium disc.

Box 2 (wood) I know from Portugueser Automatics and other watches in the (early) years 2000. The one on the picture also seems to miss the option to hold the glass tube.

Box 3 (lock) I recognise from very special watches or limited edition sets. I.e. the Portugueser Jubilee launched in 1993 to celebrate 125 years IWC, the first series of 100 where in such a box as a set of 3: 1 steel / 1 rose gold / 1 platinum. Certainly not the GST PPC box.

    Maybe others can help out?

    Regards,

    Bob

Mine came in box I as well.
since I have no use for it, it’s for sale on chrono24.
if you’re interested in the original box send me an email.
    cheers

The 2004 IWC Dealers Workbook states packaging number 37 (what you have shown in image one) as correct for the Ref 3756 GST Perpetual Calendar.

I don't have later workbooks to know of there was any change in packaging.
