Spent time at the Zurich boutique this weekend. I had several missions there, chief among them, trying to decide on my next watch. The candidates were the steel Vintage Inge and the Portuguese Automatic silver/blue.
At the boutique, I was greeted and helPed by a very friendly and knowledgable young woman named Nicole. She brought out the watches in question as well as the new brown Inge. I tried each on about 23 times. Then my wife arrived and it was time to solicit opinions. My wife and Nicole both thought the Inge looked better on my wrist. As for me, I was completely undecided. I left and was tortured by thoughts of which to get. Fortunately, before driving myself insane, I decided that I would return on Monday and throw the 5001-09 into the mix as well -- an example of questionable logic: when unable to reach a decision, increase the number of options.

So this morning I returned and had a go with the 3233-01, 5001-07 and 5001-09. I think that the silver/blue has gone by the wayside but the other two choices are both calling to me. I'm stumped. The 5001 is a special watch and I know it is in the collections of many of you. The Inge is just beautiful and will become increasingly difficult to get. I think it's a head/heart question: my head says Inge and my heart says Portuguese. Short of an unexpected windfall, I have to choose (buying both is not an option). I'm certain that this kind of torture is against the Geneva Conventions.
