Deployant Buckle Question

I have only one deployant strap/buckle so far in my collection and have a question as to the proper fit.

When I center the "folding clasp" and lock the pin in the strap hole that provides for the most comfortable fit, the buckle ends up a bit off-centered on the wrist. If I try to center the "buckle", then the folding clasp is no longer centered and the fit less comfortable.

So my question is...do you deployant fans experience the same results where the buckle ends up slightly off-centered when the clasp is properly situated ?

Any feedback on this is greatly appreciated.

I think this problem will only surface if you are not using the deployant buckle strap which is one side of the strap is shorter than the other.

I have a Portuguese with the pin buckle strap but I switch to the deployant buckle and it will result in the off centre of the folding clasp.

Thanks for the reply. I bought my 3714 last April which was the year that IWC upgraded the model with a OEM deployant strap and buckle. I know deployant's are preferred by many so my hope is that I can get some feedback and maybe some shots of where the buckle ends up on the wrist. On my pin buckle models, the buckle is dead center on my wrist, but like I said, when the folding clasp is centered for comfort, the buckle ends up slightly off-centered. Now this may indeed be the proper way a deployant buckle is suppose to be positioned but some pic's will definetly confirm if that's the case.

Member's help on this is much appreciated.

Thee is no 'supposed to be position'. Just wear it the way it is best for you.

Btw. The way I wear my deployants, the buckle off center. That is the most comfortable way for me.

Results may vary - but I have found that "deployant-length" straps do not work for me with deployant buckles. I have to be sure to buy IWC straps that are "pin buckle" length in order for the clasp-buckle to be positioned comfortably at the middle of the underside of my wrist.

If I use the deployant-length, which has a much smaller end - the clasp ends up on the side of my wrist and the result is painful...at least, for me. It also doesn't look good - because the other end of the strap's slack sticks out under my wrist and make the watch look "messy" which is not what I like to see on a Portuguese Perpetual...

You may have to change to a new strap with a different length in order to get the clasp to your preferred position.

I believe 135mm/55mm is the standard length for a deployant strap. I guess that's suitable for a 7" wrist or so.

Sometimes a strap has to be reversed which results in the clasp to be upside down. It has worked for some.

What size is your wrist?
