Deployant clasps

After following the recent discussion on how the deployant is supposed to be fitting ... Are there correct- and wrong-ways to open the clasp?

Pinch the sides of the clasp with thumb and index finger and lift works for me. I avoid crowbars or hooking with foreign objects!
