Hi! I am the proud new owner of a well-loved Portofino 3533. I decided to upgrade the deployant clasp to an OEM 18mm width deployant clasp with a new dark blue OEM deployant strap in the 55/135mm fit. So my question is: Is the clasp supposed to be off-centered on the wrist?

When I wear the watch (on my left hand) and turn my hand upward to look at the clasp, the clasp buckle is over my ulna bone instead of in-between my ulna and radius bones. The off-centeredness seems a bit... off. Whereas when I wear an off-brand strap and tang buckle it is correctly centered.

    Is this the correct fit?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,

mine is centered. Are your straps the right way round? The short end should be connected to the 6 end of the case. This is the opposite of a tang buckle strap.

Sometimes reversing the strap can help the fit of these single deployants. If the short end is attached to the 6 side of the watch, try attaching it to the 12 side, or vice versa. You can first check if this will help without actually changing the strap. Simply put the watch on "upside down" so the 12 is closer to your body and the 6 is away.

If reversing the strap doesn't help, you may want to consider an extra short strap.

TLANDO/WHICHWATCH: Thank you! Wearing the watch upside down does center the buckle---I had no idea that this worn opposite of a tang buckle. Now that it is centered, I need to get used to the tail facing inward than outward.

    Cheers!

Congratulations on the new watch. That is great news.

I think you got the buckle fixed nicely. On all of my deployant-fitted watches, the "tail" of the strap faces inward toward me. So, I think you have it set up correctly.

I recently changed the strap on my 3777 to kevlar with deployant and had the same problem. I accidently put the short side on the 12 side when it should be on the 6 side. Also check if you attached your clasp correctly, a few google searches will show you how the correct configuration should look. Hope this helps!
